Maree Sproats is a qualified Art Teacher with a Bachelor of Education Degree (Art) graduating from Alexander Mackie CAE majoring in education, child and adolescent development and psychology, art history and visual studies, painting, drawing and textile art, with sculpture, photography, print making , ceramics and media  as minor subjects.

Having taught at high school for many years, Maree took her passion for art and teaching to develop her own studio at Dural in 1995. Maree now holds a number of classes at Dural Art Studio and Supplies incorporating Kreative Kids Art Classes. Maree has continued with strength in drawing and  painting, realistically, abstract and expressive style. Maree uses pastels, paint, pen, pencil ,ink with an impressionist influence and draws with a natural expressive rendering with graphite and colour., varying in realism to abstract ,colourfield and the influence of the great master artists of history and today including a renewed interest in Indigenous and Prehistoric Art. Experiencing all forms of media to develop and pass on to her students. Subjects are inspired by her visual surroundings in the Dural area, the Australian landscape  and North Coast  seascapes, flora and fauna and colours of sunsets and reflections of light. Recent travels and our environment also influence Maree's subject matter and themes for term classes.

Having an extensive library for further study and reference, visiting galleries and keeping up to date with current art happenings in art  are of great importance to Maree's continuing professional development.

School holiday workshops are held  during most school  holidays, along with term classes for 8 years and over on Wednesday and Thursday Afternoons, including high school through to HSC Drawing and other mediums.

Adult classes are conducted on  Wednesday and Thursday mornings, developing individual needs in painting and drawing mediums. Specialist workshops are also available.

2025 classes will only be available Wednesday or Thursdays.
